Her art is heavily influenced by various elements, including nature, sacred geometry, spirituality, and the vibrant culture of her Caribbean upbringing.
It all started in Jamaica with white chalk stone from a riverbed in Oracabessa!
Dianne Val Douglas or DVALD was a natural born stone carver and spent many years carving white soft limestone. Although there were many artists in her family she did not consider herself one until she relocated to London. There her creativity and art practice expended to experiment with new ideas and materials.
Using sculpture as a background to inform her current body of work, she focusses on ‘Sacred Geometric Healing Art’. Working with materials such as thick Arches watercolour paper, translucent vibrant inks and 24 karat gold.
She intertwines the energy of abstract lines with the solidifying structure of sacred geometry to create something new and meditative to expand ones consciousness.
